Three Kings Mass, Pot-Luck Celebration Set for This Sunday

All are welcome to participate in a multi-cultural, all inclusive celebration to honor the day that the Three Wise Men visited the Baby Jesus, according to Christian tradition.

Sponsored by our parish's Hispanic Ministry group, the party will begin at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, January 8 in Centennial Hall right here at St. Joseph School.

The free festivities will include a variety of foods, beverages and desserts served pot luck style. All who attend are encouraged to bring an entree, side dish, beverage or dessert to share. Dishes reflecting the culinary heritage of all ethnic groups are welcome. So bring your favorite dish to share, a hearty appetite and your camera!

The Three Kings will have candy for the children and will also be available for photographs. People of all nationalities and faiths are invited to attend the Three Kings Day festivities.

"All are welcome to attend this celebration of the day that the Three Wise Men presented the Baby Jesus with Gold, Frankencense and Myrrh," said Reverend Thomas Lamping, Associate Pastor of St. Joseph Church. "Those who wish to do so are also invited to worship at the 11:00 a.m. Mass (in Spanish), where costumed actors portraying The Three Kings will re-enact the Holy visit. The celebration in Centennial Hall will begin immediately following the Mass."
